| Lindsay celebrates her 19th birthday!
Although her birthday isn't until July 2, actress and singer Lindsay Lohan decided to celebrate early this year at Club Basque in Hollywood after the premiere of her new movie Herbie: Fully Loaded.
Lohan and her guests, including Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Jared Leto, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Kirsten Dunst, partied the night away and left with fashionable goodies from Hi-Heeled Designs. Lohan received personalized stationery with the popular “Shoe Fetish” design packaged in a beautiful red organza bag while her guests received goodie bags featuring many of Hi-Heeled Designs most popular cards.
In the last 19 years of her life, Lohan has had her fill of expensive gifts, not to mention the stalkerazzi, rumors, and constant spotlight.
"I think there's become an obsession with the celebrity status right now, just buying the tabloids and feeding into it," she said. "It's hard, because people who don't necessarily know me on a personal level, they're going to believe whatever they read, which is understandable."
It has now gotten to a point where Lohan has to provide a list of questions that journalists aren't allowed to ask her. For instance, at the Herbie: Fully Loaded press conference, topics concerning her father, weight, parties, etc. were all banned.
Disney, on the other hand, was something Lindsay did not mind talking about.
"I loved working with Disney and I still do," she said. "But it was a nice change for me, because the character is a little bit older. [Maggie]'s just out of college ... it was a nice stepping stone for me to have. I'm thinking about it now and it's kind of funny that I've done all these Disney remakes. But I'm a big fan of older movies, so it's nice to be the one to remake those and bring them back."
Lohan apparently loved Herbie so much that she's looking for her own!
"I want to get a Herbie — I think I need to have that car in my driveway," she said, wanting a car with "some kind of system where I could go shopping while driving. It could be very dangerous, but I think it'd be great."
But for now, Lohan will have to wait and endure more of the papparazzi chases and constant scrutiny. But that doesn't mean that she isn't prepared. In the last years, Lohan has gained experience and knowledge.
"Make sure you take the time for yourself," she said. "It's very difficult in this industry and at my age, specifically, when you get very caught up in everything. You want to say 'yes' to everything and you tend to try and please everyone, which can get really difficult. Say 'no' more than 'yes,' and just make sure you surround yourself with good people. You grow up a lot faster in this [business], and you just have to keep yourself grounded. I think the whole thing is a learning experience."
